Mediation Center

Mediation Center was created on February 28, 2011 by the Academic Council of  the SFU as a structural department of the Law Institute. It was founded to promote reconciliation procedures on the territory of the Siberian Federal District and to integrate them into the legal culture.

The establishment of the Center was the result of research work on the project “Exploration of the effects and the development of the pre-trial and extrajudicial model of resolution of social, economic and other disputes in the Krasnoyarsk Krai”. This work was funded by the Krasnoyarsk Regional Fund for the Support of Science and the Scientific-Technical Activities (supervisor – Candidate of Law, N.L. Klyk).

There were 14 professional mediators in the Center on 02/28/2011, but since 02/04/2012 there were 18 professional mediators, many of whom have candidates and doctorate degrees.

Work on creation of the Center became possible only thanks to the support of the Krasnoyarsk Regional Court, the Center for Legal and Mediation Technology of the Ural State Law Academy, KRO ‘Association of Lawyers of Russia’, the Central-Siberian Chamber of Commerce.

The objectives of the Center of Mediation are:

Awareness-raising activities on the integration of mediation procedures in the legal culture of the Russian society.

Mediation of corporate, civil, family and labor disputes involving individuals and entities, and departments of the SFU.

Development of educational programs and modules for training, retraining and advanced training in the field of negotiation and mediation techniques.
