Students from the Law Institute of the Siberian Federal University held trainings in the Kansk juvenile reformatory

The socio-legal training for convicted juveniles took place in the Kansk juvenile reformatory. The training was named “Course for the future”. 

The training was organized by youth centre “Our business” as the part of the project “Juvenile Service” and by the Law Institute of the Siberian Federal University within the frame of the project “Step towards”.

Coaching staff was presented by Alexander Nazarov, Doctor of Judicial Science, Head of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics Department, and by Natalia Nikitina, Head of Socially-legal Department of Siberian Federal University.

The main purpose of these trainings was to provide social adaptation of convicted juveniles after their release from reformatory and to prevent recidivism. 

The program took 2 days (27-28 October) and included intellectual, creative and sport parts. Also convicted got social and legal advices from students of the SFU. The program was ended with a concert, which became an opportunity for convicted to prove themselves in different spheres and activities. On the concert convicted got their tasks that should be done by next training course. 

Alexander Nazarov held a meeting on father cooperation between the Law University of SFU and the Kansk juvenile reformatory. Students of SFU and the coaching staff gave pet food for animals living in the reformatory. It’s worth noting that “Pets’ corner” in the Kansk juvenile reformatory is one of the most biggest in the region and is second only to Park of Flora and Fauna “Roev Ruchey”.
