A new Federal law N 193-FZ of July 27, 2010 “On Alternative Procedure of Dispute Settlement with Participation of a Mediator (Mediation Procedure)” came into effect from January 1, 2011

Since this date in Russia there has been a new legally stipulated institution – mediation procedure, as a method of dispute settlement with participation of a Mediator on the basis of  voluntary consent of the parties aimed at reaching mutually acceptable decision.  

  

This circumstance is vitally important for the Law Institute, due to the fact, that in October- December 2010 a number of lecturers of our Institute passed an extension course on the program “ Mediation in legal activities”, which was initiated by  Director I.V. Shishko.

This course was held by the Center of legal technologies and conciliative procedures (mediation) USLA (Ural State Law Academy). The lecturers of the course were doctor of Laws, professor, pro-rector on scientific work of USLA N.N.Tarasov and  doctor of Laws, professor, director of the Center of legal technologies and conciliative procedures (mediation) USLA S.K. Zagainova.

Lecturers of the Institute permanently practice their skills of mediation, including meetings with doctor of physiological science, professor B.I. Khasan.   Such meetings are traditionally held twice a month on Thursdays at 18.00.
