Legal expeditionary force in the Kansk Educational Colony.
On the 14th of October, 2011, the group of 3rd year students – Yuri Reznikov, Olesya Klimova, Galina Fedorenko –, studying the criminal procedure, headed by N.A.Nikitina, a lecturer, and T.I.Mashkina, a distinguished lawyer and a chairwoman of the Remission Commission under the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Region, held a seminar for the workers of the Kansk Educational Colony and conducted a meeting with children serving a sentence there. Within the scope of that event the juvenile offenders could get answers for a plenty of legal questions they were interested in. T.I.Mashkina told the students, the workers and the children of the Colony about the right of every convicted person to remission. Children were particularly interested in the statistics of the remission in our region, its procedure, required conditions and documents. N.A.Nikitina conducted the seminar for the workers of the educational institution on the innovative techniques of dealing with juvenile offenders. The law students answered a plenty of children’s legal questions: concerning the terms of the parole, the possibility of alteration of sentence serving conditions. The meeting was beneficial for all the participants: for the students, for the children, for the personnel of the Kansk Educational Colony, which, by the way, will become an Educational Rehabilitation Center for the juvenile offenders in 2012. It should be noted that for years lecturers and students efficiently participate in the reformation of the Kansk Educational Colony and, in cooperation with the Government of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation, successfully realize a unique social-psychological-legal project, which has no parallels in Russia, named “A step towards”, which is headed up by the head of the Criminal Procedure Department, the candidate of legal sciences, the docent A.D.Nazarov. The visit to the Kansk Educational Colony was conducted with the assistance of the Krasnoyarsk regional chapter of the Russian Lawyers Association and within the scope of the Regional Science Fund’s project, which is being realized by the Criminal Procedure Department. |
