From 10th to 16th of March the most famous human rights organization in Russia – Moscow Helsinki Group – held the International Seminar (School) on Human Rights in Moscow. The representatives from Russian and CIS Human Right organizations took part in the event. Moreover, post-graduates of the Law Institute Criminal Process Department, Ilgar Zeinalov and Michael Katyshenko were invited to participate.
Sessions were carried out by the members of both International and Russian Human Rights organizations:
- Ludmila Alekseeva- School expert, MHG Chairperson;
- Sergey Shimovolos – Head and of the School, coordinator of the PRI-program (International Prison Reform);
- Igor Sazhin – Couch and Chief Methodologist of the School, Chairperson of ‘Memorial’, Human Rights Organization;
- Andrew Urov – Couch and Expert of the School, Council of Europe Expert, honorable President of the International Youth Human Rights Movement;
- Nina Tagankina – Chief Expert of the School, MHG Executive Director;
- Andrew Babushkin - Expert of the School, Chairperson of the Civil Rights Committee, Member of the Public Council of the Ministry of the Interior;
- Dmitry Makarov – Expert of the School, MHG member, Member of the Coordination Council in International Youth Human Rights Movement;
- Mary Sereda – Expert of the School, representative of the “Amnesty International”;
- Vladimir Osechkin – Expert of the School, Head of the Project “Gulagy.net”.
Our post-graduates were one of the most active and well-prepared participants, so they were granted with Thankful letters from the organizers.
Young scientists will use the acquired knowledge in teaching activities of the Department, in writing their scientific papers and in future Human Rights protection practice in the Region.
