The 6th success of the Law Institute of the Siberian Federal University

International scientific conference was held on 5-6 April in the Law Institute of the Siberian Federal University. This conference has already become traditional and for the 6th time took place in the building of the Law Institute (Maerchaka Street, 6). The topic of this year's conference was “The problem of reformation of the Russian Federation’s legal system and human rights protection in national and international context.”

The atmosphere of the conference was permeated with the innovative ideas and initiatives, while a number of participants exceeded organizers’ expectations. 210 young researchers of legal problems from Tomsk, Ulan-Ude, Novosibirsk and other cities of the Russian Federation presented their papers, as well as 400 young scientists expressed their willingness to participate in absentia. Special attention should be given to the section of comparative studies, where the students of the Comparative Law Department were speaking English and German languages.
The students from the University of Passau took the direct part in the conference, presenting their papers on criminal and constitutional law of Russia and Germany. Anja Grotheer, German student, studying in the Law Institute under DSG program, shares her experiences:

- Hello, Anja! The topic of your presentation is “Conspiracy in criminal law of Russia and Germany”. Tell me please, why have you chosen this theme?

- This paper is a part of the project I am writing here. I was surprised to find out that Russian criminal law, contrary to the German one, distinguishes the figure of organizer of the crime. I was interested in how the German legislator solves this problem. It was also interesting to compare and apply a positive experience of both countries.
- Are there any differences between our conference and German one?

-There are fewer conferences in Germany and they are not dealing with so many subjects. Generally, we have one topic and all speakers present their view on the issue. Besides, the conference itself takes place not in many auditoriums, but in one big hall, that makes every participant feel heightened excitement and responsibility.

Law Institute thanks sponsors and partners, who assisted in carrying out the conference:

Krasnoyarsk Regional Office of Association of Lawyers of Russia, Public Committee of Human Rights Protection, Siberian Confectionery Company, PC “Krasnoyarsk HPP”, information center “Spark”, legal office “Arbikon” and other municipal and regional organizations.

Student press service of the Law Institute thanks all the participants, organizers and partners of the VI International scientific conference “The reformation of the Russian Federation’s legal system and human rights protection in national and international context” and wishes everybody productive work at the next conference, which will open its doors to participants for the seventh time.
