Student press service
Student press service was established in December 2011 as a unified informational centre of the Law Institute of the SFU. Nowadays the press service includes three organizational departments: Student website editorial team, Translation Centre and Student newspaper “Lawyer”. Thereby, the Law Institute of the SFU has a sterling student organization, which main function is to inform employees and students about everything connecting with extracurricular life of the Law Institute. Moreover, thanks to the Translation Center, press service activity became wider. Today student press service is making a website not only in Russian, but also in English and in German. Only students of the Law Institute are involved in Student press service activity. Another distinctive feature is special training courses designed specifically for students working in the press centre of the Law Institute. Members of the centre participate in different projects, connecting with legal consulting, assistance and other important activities of the Law Institute of the SFU. We welcome all interested students!

Law Institute’s SFU site is not an exception. In the purpose of timely deployment and updating information about out of studying life of the Institute in December 2011 was established student editorial team as a department within the Student Press Service. The specific of this edition is that the internet space requires a special form of writing articles – "the minimum amount - maximum of information." Students who work in the format of blogging, efficiently search deals with any news of facts that require to be immediately covered on the website of the institute. Students’ editorial team is also doing an immediate design and editing sections. Since March 2012 this department is headed by the 3nd year student of the law department Tatiana Borisova.

The Centre for Translation aims many interesting and challenging tasks – translation of the Russian newlines on the website in English and German, cooperation with foreign guests, translation international conferences in Law Institute SFU etc. The Centre for Translation currently has two divisions - English and German, and it is planned to create Chinese division. Since the new entity is still young, the most important task is the recruitment of new staff and training them the basics of literary translation. Together with the editorial, The Centre for Translation organizes various seminars, training courses, presentations and much more for employees! Full operation work of The Centre for Translation will start from February 2012. We welcome all interested students! |
