Become an election observer in the Law Institute of the Siberian Federal University!On the 1st of February Vladimir Putin, the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, met the representatives of youth associations of the Association of Lawyers of Russia. The major part of the meeting was held in the assembly hall of the Moscow State Law Academy and was conducted in informal atmosphere.

From the 5th to the 8th of December, 2011 the seminar “Legal education and practical skills training” will be held in the Law Institute.The sponsors are: the Siberian Federal University and The U.S. Russia Foundation (USRF). The seminar is designed for lecturers and practitioners engaged in the teaching activities, who are interested in improvement of the existent courses by means of methodology and techniques, which are aimed at development of practical and experience-based skills.

Legal expeditionary force in the Kansk Educational Colony.On the 14th of October, 2011, the group of 3rd year students – Yuri Reznikov, Olesya Klimova, Galina Fedorenko –, studying the criminal procedure, headed by N.A.Nikitina, a lecturer, and T.I.Mashkina, a distinguished lawyer and a chairwoman of the Remission Commission under the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Region, held a seminar for the workers of the Kansk Educational Colony and conducted a meeting with children serving a sentence there.

Profession «Lawyer»: from theory to practiceThe first Summer Law School for law students was held on the territory of the TIY (Territory of the Initiative Youth) “Byrusa” in Krasnoyarsk. “Profession «Lawyer»” is a joint project of the SFU Law Institute, Krasnoyarsk Regional Department of the Russian Lawyers Association and A.S Gorelik Social Committee for the Human Rights Protection. The participants were 75 students from the law universities from Krasnoyarsk, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Novokuznetsk and republics Khakasia and Buryatia. The tutors were experienced lawyers, including the Chairman of Regional Parliament, the SFU President A. Uss, the Prosecutor of the Krasnoyarsk Region Y. Baranov, the Chairman of the Arbitrage Court of Krasnoyarsk Region D. Surkov, the Head of Federal Service of Punishment Execution, the President of the Bar of Krasnoyarsk Region S. Maltov, the vice-director of the Main Investigation Administration of the Main Administration of Home Affairs N. Yudaeva, the director of the Regional Amnesty Commission T. Mashkina, the director of the Law Institute of the SFU I. Shishko. The classes were being held by professors N. Schedrin, N. Stoyko, the advocate and associate professor A. Nazarov, the judge of the Arbitrage Court of the Krasnoyarsk Region R. Razhkov.

Еducational program "Jurisprudence" (bachelor) of Law Institute is recognized as one of the best programs in the project "The best educational programs of innovative Russia" in 2010-2016.
The Law Institute successfully passed public accreditation on the lawyers’ education quality, which was conducted by the All-Russian Non-Commercial Organization “Association of Lawyers of Russia”.
On the 5-8 of December 2011 the Law Institute of the SFU in cooperation with the US-Russia Foundation on economic and law development (USRF) holds a seminar “Legal education in the 21st century: practically oriented legal education”.
The professor of the Criminal Procedure Chamber of the Law Institute A.S.Barabash is invited for the lecturing in the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The Graduate of the Law Institute of the Siberian Federal University Viktor Yurkov (who has written the thesis afterwards, under the direction of N.V. Shedrin, the professor of the Law Institute) became a winner of the German-Russian Law Award Competition-2010. The award is bestowed for the prominent works, the subject of which was comparative legal analyses of the Russian law and law of the German-speaking countries.
