In 2011 the Law Institute passed the social accreditation held by the Association of Lawyers of Russia.The Association of Lawyers of Russia unites a great number of professional lawyers of different law spheres. It is comprised of practicing lawyers as well as law professors. One of the areas of the Association’s activity is the promotion of the quality of legal education including the social accreditation of the higher schools of law. The accreditation was passed successfully and the Law Institute was recognized as the educational institution which prepares high-quality professionals in the sphere of law. In early December, the results of the competition "ECO-LAWYER – 2018" were summed up. All-Russian competition for students "ECO-LAWYER" has been held since 2009. The organizer of the competition is LLC "Ecological legal center "BELLONA". In 2018, the competition was attended by 1647 people from 330 settlements of 62 subjects of the Russian Federation, who presented 117 educational institutions. The competition was held in absentia and consisted of three stages: the preparatory stage, the selection test and the main part, which includes practical, theoretical and creative tasks. In addition to the environmental law test, participants had to select an environmental problem in their region, write an essay and prepare a procedural document to the appropriate authority. On November 20, 2018, a methodical seminar was held at the Legal Clinic of the Siberian Federal University Law School. On it, the clinic's curators restored and discussed the main methodical schemes, on the basis of which the model of supervision in the clinic and the curator's activity, as well as the process of mastering professional legal activity are built. Bykovskaya Anna Sergeevna, master’s degree “Advocate in a legal proceeding” graduate, has become the winner of the Russian-German Legal Prize 2018 for a Russian-language research called “Handling the court cases in summary proceeding as a trend in the development of criminal legal procedure in the countries of the continental law tradition”. Graduate qualification work of a candidate for a master's degree written under scientific supervision of A. A. Brester, PhD in law, associate professor of criminal proseeding and criminalistics, was submitted in the contest. For more than semicentenial development Law Institute has turned into one of the leading centres of legal personnel training in Russia: prominent representatives of various branches of law work here, there are 16 doctors of sciences (the teachers having a scientific degree, make 74%) among them.
About 2500 students are trained at the Institute. Educational activity is conducted according to the programs of higher and additional vocational training. At the Institute along with the traditional five year training there is a multilevel system of preparation of lawyers, which provides higher education. The students are given a bachelor’s degree after four years of training and master’s degree – after six years.
Lecturers of the Institute actively participate in working out and examination of projects of the Russian and regional laws, co-operate with regional and Russian authorities. Professors and senior lecturers are members of advisory councils and the commissions of state governing bodies, members of the qualifying commissions. At the initiative of the Institute scientific and advisory council is created at Krasnoyarsk Regional Court. The most qualified lecturers of the Institute along with judges participate there.
