In 2011 the Law Institute passed the social accreditation held by the Association of Lawyers of Russia.The Association of Lawyers of Russia unites a great number of professional lawyers of different law spheres. It is comprised of practicing lawyers as well as law professors. One of the areas of the Association’s activity is the promotion of the quality of legal education including the social accreditation of the higher schools of law. The accreditation was passed successfully and the Law Institute was recognized as the educational institution which prepares high-quality professionals in the sphere of law. On Sunday morning, October 28, 2018, from 8.00 to 11.30, took place a regular meeting of the scientific and practical circle of the Law School of the Siberian Federal University "Negotiations in Lawyer's Activities". Is was held under the leadership of a lawyer, associate professor of the Siberian Federal University – Bogdanov Vyacheslav Petrovitch. The main idea of the meeting was to know in which way lawyers can to develop in themselves one of the most crucial skill – to conduct communication effectively. Alexander Petrov, Associate Professor of Theory and History of State and Law at the Law Institute, took part in the orientation scientific seminar of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for the joint grant programs of the DAAD and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation “Mikhail Lomonosov” and “Immanuel Kant” (DAAD Orientierungsseminar für Stipendiaten Lomonosov-und Kant-Programm). The event took place October 29-30 in Bonn. On the first day of the seminar, participants heard reports from the heads of relevant departments and experts from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and the German Academic Exchange Service on the state of scientific and educational relations between Russia and Germany, current scholarship programs and competitions. On the same day, seminarians became guests of the ceremonial reception at the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Bonn. The work of the second day of the seminar consisted in the presentation of a number of pre-selected participants of the seminar of their research projects. Among the speakers was the associate professor of the Siberian Federal University Alexander Petrov. He made a presentation on his research project “Factors determining the hierarchy of sources of law in Russia and Germany”, carried out by him within the framework of the Immanuel Kant grant program at the University. I. F. Goethe in Frankfurt on the Main (Goethe-Universität Frankfurt) under the guidance of Doctor of Law, Professor, Head of the German IVR Section Klaus Gunther. In particular, Associate Professor Petrov spoke about the object of comparative legal research, his methods and approaches, the reasons for his choice for a comparative analysis of the legal systems of Russia and Germany and preliminary scientific results. From October 29 to November 3 at the suburban sports and recreation center "Green hills" training camps in the framework of the regional project "Police classes" were performed for forty students of the tenth classes of the Krasnoyarsk Krai. For Russia, this project is unique and has no analogues. Briefly about the project: it has been implemented for several years in the region on the initiative of the Public Council of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Russia in the Krasnoyarsk Krai. The project holder is the Ministry of education of the Krasnoyarsk Krai, and the Ministry of internal Affairs, the Law school of Siberian Federal University and the Siberian Law school of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Russia take an active part in it. Students in grades 7-11 in many schools, lyceums, gymnasiums and cadet corps of the region are trained under the program "police classes" (classes in law, criminology, police business, fire and drill training, etc.). It is essential to note that in the educational institutions of the region "police classes" are often called "classes of legal orientation", as in-depth legal training orients students to enroll not only in departmental universities of the Ministry of internal Affairs, but also in civil law schools, including the Siberian Federal University. The socio-legal training for convicted juveniles took place in the Kansk juvenile reformatory. The training was named “Course for the future”. The training was organized by youth centre “Our business” as the part of the project “Juvenile Service” and by the Law Institute of the Siberian Federal University within the frame of the project “Step towards”. Leskova, Doctor of Sociology, Professor, Head of the Department of the Russian State Social University (Moscow) made a business visit to the Krasnoyarsk male strict-security colony No. 17. For more than semicentenial development Law Institute has turned into one of the leading centres of legal personnel training in Russia: prominent representatives of various branches of law work here, there are 16 doctors of sciences (the teachers having a scientific degree, make 74%) among them.
About 2500 students are trained at the Institute. Educational activity is conducted according to the programs of higher and additional vocational training. At the Institute along with the traditional five year training there is a multilevel system of preparation of lawyers, which provides higher education. The students are given a bachelor’s degree after four years of training and master’s degree – after six years.
Lecturers of the Institute actively participate in working out and examination of projects of the Russian and regional laws, co-operate with regional and Russian authorities. Professors and senior lecturers are members of advisory councils and the commissions of state governing bodies, members of the qualifying commissions. At the initiative of the Institute scientific and advisory council is created at Krasnoyarsk Regional Court. The most qualified lecturers of the Institute along with judges participate there.
