Dear Colleagues,

We take the liberty to send you the call for applications and the flyer of presentation of the Summer School in China Edition 2012 – Executive Education Training Program held at Peking University School of Government in Beijing (China) with two curricula: 1) Summer Institute on Climate Change and Environmental Protection (SICCEP) and 2) Summer Institute on Intellectual Property Rights and China (IP-China).

The student of the 3rd course of the Law Institute Evgeny Akunchenko became a Champion of the SFU in a sport version of "Svoya Igra" on the last Sunday (the 15th of April).

In the beginning of April the team of the Law Institute "The group of persons" took part in the First Russian National Competition on the criminalistics and criminal procedure "Crimecess", which was held in the Law Institute of the Tomsk State University.

International scientific conference was held on 5-6 April in the Law Institute of the Siberian Federal University. This conference has already become traditional and for the 6th time took place in the building of the Law Institute (Maerchaka Street, 6). The topic of this year's conference was “The problem of reformation of the Russian Federation’s legal system and human rights protection in national and international context.”

From 10th to 16th of March the most famous human rights organization in Russia – Moscow Helsinki Group – held the International Seminar (School) on Human Rights in Moscow. The representatives from Russian and CIS Human Right organizations took part in the event. Moreover, post-graduates of the Law Institute Criminal Process Department, Ilgar Zeinalov and Michael Katyshenko were invited to participate.

The Law Faculty of the Moscow State University, with the assistance of ‘White & Case’ Law firm and ‘Consultant Plus’ Company, announce a competition of student scientific works ‘Way to profession-2012’.

Alena Matveeva, the student of the Law Institute (specialization "International relations"), spent January and February of 2012 in New York, participating in the 'Winter school in New York'.

A group of students from the SFU comprising the youth choir participated in the International Festival of Contemporary Choral Music (Mezinarodni festival soudobe sborove hudby Praha 2012) "Canti veris Praga", which recently took place in Prague, Czech Republic.

The Mediation Centre of the Law Institute of the SFU as a structural subdivision was established by the Academic Council in 2011.

On the 14-16 of March, 2012 the Law Institute of the Siberian Federal University, the Krasnoyarsk regional department of the Association of Lawyers of Russia, and the General Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service conduct traditional and – this year – international Makarenkovskie readings in the Kansk juvenile reformatory (such conference has been held in Kansk juvenile correction facility for three times, once in two years).
