In 2011 the Law Institute passed the social accreditation held by the Association of Lawyers of Russia.The Association of Lawyers of Russia unites a great number of professional lawyers of different law spheres. It is comprised of practicing lawyers as well as law professors. One of the areas of the Association’s activity is the promotion of the quality of legal education including the social accreditation of the higher schools of law. The accreditation was passed successfully and the Law Institute was recognized as the educational institution which prepares high-quality professionals in the sphere of law. April 21 at the Law Institute began the days of youth science – «The Yenisei legal readings» as a part of the XII International Conference of SFU "Youth and Science". This year master classes and round table discussions were organized in addition to the traditional legal sections. Also, playing moot courts and playing meetings of the international organizations held during the conference. All students had the opportunity to choose the section that they like according to their preferences. Recruitment of students is carried out in team of SFU Law Institute for participation in “Crystal Themis” - Sixth All-Russian competition on Constitutional Justice among student teams.
The competition is held by the Institute of Law and Public Policy, under the auspices of the Association of Lawyers of Russia jointly with the Venice Commission Council of Europe in the form of constitutional proceedings (moot court). Participants will be required to demonstrate knowledge of Russian legislation and practice of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation, the ability to use foreign experience and international standards, the ability to construct a reasoned legal position, skills, legal writing and oratory. Women's volleyball team of the Law Institute won the I place on volleyball among institutions for the set-off Games SFU 2015-2016.
Our team easily passed the group stage of the tournament, finished it in the first place, and won a series of games of the playoffs: 1/4 final: Law Institute – Polytechnical Institute (with a score of 2: 0) 1/2 finals: Law Institute – Civil Engineering Institute (with a score of 2: 0) Final: Law Institute – Institute of Management business processes and economy (with a score of 2: 1) The meeting at the Embassy of Sweden
Last week the head of the Department of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics of the Law Institute of Siberian Federal University – Nazarov A.D. (Philosophy Doctor, Associate Professor) held a meeting in Moscow at the Swedish Embassy. Students of Law institute are participants and winners of the district round of All-Russian students Competition of law.
March 26, 2016 the team of the Law Institute of SFU, consisting of 6 people, participated in the district round of the All-Russian students Competition of law over the Siberian Federal district, which was organized on the basis of State University of Kemerovo. The founder of the Competition is a Youth Union of Layers of Russian Federation. The Competition has been organized for 18 years and it is a large-scale contest for students of law. The teams from 15 Universities of Siberian Federal District took part in Competition. The students of the Siberian Federal University have won Russian National Round of the Jessup Moot Court Competition, which is the largest and most prestigious moot court in the world.

For more than semicentenial development Law Institute has turned into one of the leading centres of legal personnel training in Russia: prominent representatives of various branches of law work here, there are 16 doctors of sciences (the teachers having a scientific degree, make 74%) among them.
About 2500 students are trained at the Institute. Educational activity is conducted according to the programs of higher and additional vocational training. At the Institute along with the traditional five year training there is a multilevel system of preparation of lawyers, which provides higher education. The students are given a bachelor’s degree after four years of training and master’s degree – after six years.
Lecturers of the Institute actively participate in working out and examination of projects of the Russian and regional laws, co-operate with regional and Russian authorities. Professors and senior lecturers are members of advisory councils and the commissions of state governing bodies, members of the qualifying commissions. At the initiative of the Institute scientific and advisory council is created at Krasnoyarsk Regional Court. The most qualified lecturers of the Institute along with judges participate there.
