In 2011 the Law Institute passed the social accreditation held by the Association of Lawyers of Russia.The Association of Lawyers of Russia unites a great number of professional lawyers of different law spheres. It is comprised of practicing lawyers as well as law professors. One of the areas of the Association’s activity is the promotion of the quality of legal education including the social accreditation of the higher schools of law. The accreditation was passed successfully and the Law Institute was recognized as the educational institution which prepares high-quality professionals in the sphere of law. The intramural stage of Competition on international humanitarian law named after Martens will be held in Moscow on 18-22 April. The Law Institute team, which consists of a group of students YUYU-1306BMIP Darya Shinkevich, Anastasia Kondratenko and Vasiliy Zobnin successfully passed the eliminatory stage. From 3 to 7 February 2016 15th Russian Rounds of international competition on public international law named after Philip Jessup ("Jessup Competition") was held in Moscow. Being the "Olympic Games" for law students from over the world, the Jessup Competition takes place fully in English in the form of imitation of the meeting of the International Court of Justice and covers the most actual issues of public international law. For example in 2016 the dispute between fictional states Amestonia and Risland affects issues of legality of mass surveillance and preventive detention in the context of human rights, as well as their validity in the fight against the terrorist group, "The Hive" serving opposes of the using of neonicotinoids. In addition this year the case of the competition covers the issues of interpretation and compliance of international treaties, as well as the problems of bringing to liability the States for cyber attacks which cause the damage to another States. Monitoring for the regional Bailiffs' Service
Students of our Institute in next three months will monitor the activities of UFSSP divisions of the region under the guidance of a member of the Public Council under the Office of the Federal bailiff Service (UFSSP) of Russia across Krasnoyarsk territory, head of the Department of criminal procedure law Institute of the SFU, PhD, associate Professor A. D. Nazarov,. By order of the Chief bailiff of Krasnoyarskiy krai E. Lovando and the Public Council of the UFSSP in the region, students will conduct a survey of officers and citizens, monitor the activities of bailiffs in courts, will visit units of the judicial bailiffs. Based on the results of student’s monitoring reports will be submitted to the management of the regional SSP and the Public Council of the Ministry. Winter school for legal clinics students “Human Rights Academy” took place from January 31st to February 5th 2016 in Saint Petersburg. This is annual event that is held by Saint Petersburg Prince P.G. Oldenburg Law institute since 1999. This time, school was dedicated to participation in jury skills development. Krasnoyarsk was represented by two Law clinic students and one graduate on that school. The Ministry of education and science of the Russian Federation jointly with the Council of RF President for state support of young Russian scientists and for state support of leading scientific schools of Russian Federation announced the winners of the contest for the grants of the President of Russian Federation for state support of fundamental and applied scientific research conducted by young Russian scientists - 2016 — candidates of Sciences, whose age at the time of termination of the grant does not exceed 35 years. The competition received over two thousand applications. In one of the ten areas of knowledge — "Social Sciences and Humanities" — was approved by the 66 recipients of this scholarship.
