International conferences in Moscow

The Head of the Criminal Procedure Department of the Law Institute of the SFU, Candidate of Law, Assistant professor A. D Nazarov and the senior lecturer of the Criminal Procedure Department of the Law Institute of the SFU A. G. Tuzov presented reports in the section of the criminal procedure.

Our colleagues, specialists in procedure, from the Law Institute of the National Research Tomsk University took part in this section via videoconferencing.

An interesting discussion of notorious bill on the objective truth took place during the section. This bill was initiated by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, and you can find it on its official website.

The Moscow State Institute of International Relations organized another conference – the International Conference of Young Scientists in comparative law.

The senior lecturer of the Criminal Procedure Department of the Law Institute of the SFU A. G. Tuzov took part in the Conference and presented his report.

Before the Conference a competition of research works in comparative law was held for students. Our students - D. Vereshak, V. Karnauhova, E. Gavrilov were among winners of this competition and received diplomas and prizes from competition’s partners – well-known international law firms.

It should be noted that students of the MGIMO-university strictly follow the business dress code in everyday clothes and often participate in various conferences with reports and presentations. They speak fluent two foreign languages ​​and study all legal disciplines in comparative law aspect.

Panel discussion about the reforms in the police force

On the eve of the Day of the bodies of internal affairs a penal discussion on the topic “The police and the public - what has changed in the year and a half of the reform?”  was held in the editorial office of the newspaper "Our Krasnoyarsk Krai".

The participants of the panel discussion were the Deputy Chief of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Krasnoyarsk Krai A.M. Kuznetsov, the Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Krasnoyarsk Krai V.N. Sevostyanov, the well- known Krasnoyarsk’s artist S.E. Anufriev, the veteran of the MIA V.P.Kurochkin, the head of the Criminal Procedure Department of the Law Institute of the SFU A.D. Nazarov.

The law students and those who are interested in the problems of the reforms in the police force will find useful the most current materials that we offer to pay attention to. They are presented by A.D. Nazarov as an expert of working group on the reformation the MIA of Russia, who returned from its regular meeting in Moscow.

The administrative justice in Russia

30 October 2012 the conference which theme was "The administrative justice in Russia", its theoretical and practical problems» was organized by the Federation Council Committee. The aspects of the event were constitutional law, legal and judicial disputes, development of civil society.

A roundtable on ‘Education and practice within the school.

On the 31st of October the roundtable “Education and practice within the university: search for the optimal balance” took place in the Law Institute of the SFU. The organizers of the event were the international funds USRF and PILnet.

What kind of a professional lawyer does the university prepare – legal counsel, judge, or police officer? What specific skills a university considers necessary to develop and to be presented in programs, and whether these skills are general or whether they refer to one of the presented specializations. How much these practice-oriented approaches raised the effectiveness of the studies? These and other issues were discussed during the roundtable. Participants of the event were pleased with the results and prospects of further development of practice-oriented education.
